Born in San Benedetto Val di Sambro (near Bologna , Italy) February 27th 1960, third of four brothers.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Bologna in 1979 he enrolled in the Scuola di Liuteria Artistica Bolognese where he was taught by Master Luthier Otello Bignami.  
After his graduation in 1983 he worked as assistant in Bignami's workshop in Bologna.

Since then Maestro Bruno Stefanini has established himself as a successfull maker of violins, violas and cellos.
